Viola

I spent the day at a seniors salon with my 98 year old Aunt Vi. Her pride and ability amazes me, but then again, today was a good day for her.

Diwali

Little India was a buzz with firecrackers, lights, sparklers and candles, celebrating both Diwali and Eid which are falling over the same weekend this year.

last (I hope) video

I made one more video... very cool exhibit at the science centre, Marvell's Super Heros help explain science to children!

Visit insidetoronto.com/to/video, scroll down to "heros all the rage at the science centre," OR, you can check out Scarborough's longest squash, yes the vegetable... I have yet to see it, but I bet it's a fabulously interesting video.

Save the World

People around the world today were standing up to raise awareness for poverty, and someone was scheduled to be standing at every second of the last 24 hours in some part of the globe. Fairmont Junior Public School gathered at Cathedral Bluffs Park to do their part, clapping the seconds of their time slot in silence.

Downsview Park had their annual Fall Fest today, and amongst the fall activities was a project allowing everyone to be able to plant a tree in the park.

video #2

Here is my second (and most likely final) Mirror video... Cute assignment of a human chain of children delivering food from school to the firehall for Thanksgiving.

Go to insidetoronto.com and use the pull down menu to choose a region. Once the page is loaded, you'll be able to find and click on the video features. My new one is 'A Strong Link For Charity.'

I'm definitely no videographer, but I thought some might find it interesting to see...

Turkey weekend... Pictures of some of the fam.

Adrian, at an entry point along the Bruce Trail on top of Craigleith with Kate getting her helmet on in the background to go for a ride.

Kate Alyssa in a dried-up bean/pea field of some sort along Airport road Monday afternoon.

Less-serious, happy Kate...

White Night

Nuit Blanche seemed to be a big hit, from the small portion of the exhibits I saw. Saturday night, from 7.01 pm until sunrise Sunday morning, Toronto hosted Nuit Blanche, and outdoor contemporary art 'thing' (in their words) across the city.

Philosophers Walk at U of T was filled with fog... 'Fog in Toronto' which was the most advertised of exhibits, was full of people in awe strolling the pathway Saturday night.

Nell Crichton stands in the fog at Philosophers Walk near a tree, taking a break from the busy path.

The Wish Tree allowed people to take a wish from the bucket at it's trunk to tie on its branches.
